Frequently Asked Questions

I am an Attendee Only

  • Swear Jar Jamboree is Philadelphia's indie comedy + improv playground, four days at The Proscenium Theatre at the Drake (with additional workshop space at Plays & Players Theatre) running July 9–12, 2026.

We curate every show, act, workshop, and event ourselves and aim to bring together people from all over the US and across multiple comedy varieties. Throughout the festival you'll get main stage shows, community jams, and festival pass holders will get access to additional optional gatherings.

  • You do not need to be a performer to attend! You can pick up a ticket to attend any show on our Tickets page, or grab a festival pass to get the most out of our programming.

  • We have both! You can purchase a ticket to any individual show you would like to attend. We also have passes for people who would like to be with us through the entire weekend, or would like access to our other non-ticketed events and gatherings that are aimed at building community among comedians.

  • A ticket gains you access to the show that you purchased the ticket for. This will get you into the theater, The Proscenium Theatre at the Drake, for the length of that show.

You receive a badge when you have purchased an all festival or weekend pass or are a performer or instructor. Badge holders get access to all of the programming happening during the length of the festival indicated on their badge.

  • Absolutely! We encourage you to attend as much of our programming as you can. In the case you would like to attend at least one show each day, we suggest that you purchase a festival pass to get the best bang for your buck!

  • In order to gain access to any of the programming happening during the course of Swear Jar Jamboree, you must have either a ticket for the programming, or a pass that covers that programming.

  • Yes! Any tickets are refundable. If you have any issues processing a refund, email us at jamboree@weareswearjar.com with your purchase details (email, items, etc) and we will be able to further assist you.

  • We are offering 9 individual show blocks that host a variety of comedy types and styles. Check the schedule or your ticket information to see what type of acts are included in the show you would like to see!

We will be hosting Improv, musical comedy, standup, clown, sketch, character, and more!

  • The festival is intended for ages 16+ as much of the acts will have themes that are not always appropriate for children.

  • All festival programming takes place at The Proscenium at The Drake at:

    302 S. Hicks Street
    Philadelphia, PA

Entrance to the theater is located on Hicks Street between Spruce and Pine.

  • You should plan to arrive to the Proscenium Theatre at The Drake (our main stage for shows) around 10 minutes before the show starts.

Be aware that because this is festival style programming, there will likely be a show getting out before the one you are attending, so arrival of 30 minutes or more before the show does not guarantee access to seating in the theater.

  • Seats are not assigned, so you are free to position yourself in the open seating that is most optimal for you

  • You can absolutely leave and reenter at any time. We may ask you to wait in the lobby for an act to have a natural pause where we can welcome you into the theater.

You may be asked to rescan your ticket or present your badge in order to do so

  • There is a small concession stand within The Proscenium Theater at The Drake that will serve snacks, as well as beer and wine.

  • Yes. There are several nearby garages and parking lots in Center City. The Theatre recommends reserving parking in advance through SpotHero. Be aware that street parking next to the theater is never guaranteed

  • Yes it is! There is ramp entrance to the theater from the lobby, as well as a bathroom all on the same floor.

We are also able to offer assistive hearing devices, please request them at the ticket check in.

  • Even better! We welcome all enjoyers of laughter to any one of Swear Jar Jamboree’s shows. And since it’s a comedy variety show, there’s going to be a little something special for everyone at Jamboree
